Your son and his dad might not have complained because they had no idea what had been taken from them.

It is not discussed much. Consider how very difficult a thing it is for a man to even consider — that someone removed vital living tissue with the most nerve-ends on his penis, when he was an infant.

If these men could for one second experience what was stolen from them there wouldn't be enough lawyers to handle all the malpractice suits.

As far as the creator of the universe telling certain people that they should snip off a piece of their infant son's penis — well, that's another story altogether.

But there are many many circumcised men who have become informed — who do realize that while any initial trauma might be forgotten (or buried) — that the benefits of the foreskin have forever been denied them — taken at birth — with no consent.

There are indeed many remorseful parents who are speaking out and working against what they went along with, uninformed. To say it was nothing, or good, is to try to deny the nightmare.

Maybe this woman's perspective — one that is echoed by women all around the world where intact is the norm — will help you understand the benefits that exist for the lovers of intact men.

My hope is for women to be caring enough to be among the ones who speak out against the barbarism of circumcision.

Painfully, in the US media, women criticize intact penises based on their limited experience. Unforgivably bad on aesthetics. You'd think women would know better.

The fact that “trained physicians” perform it is more a shame than something to lift up as a good thing.

I grew up during the Vietnam war death lottery and have watched for a half century my country's abominable military-industrial complex behavior — so to me every day, and any conversation, is a good one to speak out against it.

The male of our species is a real problem

on our planet when it coimes to violence — and we need to address it - especially when it comes to war.

My hope turns to women — to do the Lysistrata thing rather than wave flags at parades.

Bringing up Jane Goodall and chimp behavior to give the behavior of war some sort of anthropological historical excuse?

If we're going that route I recommend we switch to our other closest relatives - the bonobo - who are peaceful and resolve their issues by having sex.

(Not likely. Homophobia in the human male ape is powerful enough a reason to kill for.)

As far as female genital mutilation (at least they call it straight, not "circumcision") — there are very many varying degrees of it. The ETHICS are the same! Unnecessary. Barbaric!

Thanks for reading and writing.

PEACE.
