Why is seat-down the norm?!

Men leaving the seat up shows that they lifted the seat up to pee. Suggests maybe a dry seat.

Which is more than I can say for the times I walk into a public restroom after a "lady" has “hovered” to make sure the princess bottom has not touched the throne.

“Ladies” — just lower it and pee and be grateful it is not a self-flusing toilet.
