My biggest batch were all Beatles era—Herman's Hermits, Doors, Kinks . . . then a smaller batch when early punk showed up with renewed energy—Ramones, Clash, Dead Kennedys—to me a relief after all the sludge of "progressive rock".

And then there were no more 45s.

Now its all pretty much digital. And always new surprises—like my becoming an over-the-top Beethoven fan-boy last year.
