I've been recently reading, and watching some videos, of the dazzlingly perceptive Gore Vidal. "The United States of Amnesia" nailed it. No sense of their own evil empire's history.

I grew up facing the Vietnam death lottery draft - and so quickly got an insight as to how and what this country does. It's only gotten worse - a perpetual war - with better manipulated propaganda. Where have all the young people gone/ gone from protests to smartphones every one.
