I am writing this to thank you for a well-thought out, informed article — before I plunge into the predictable cliched backlash in the comments below. We don't have a state-controlled media in the USA—just a military-industrial-corporate controlled one. The majority of Americans don't want historical details, just a quick black/white narrative they have strong opinions with. Comes from Saturday morning cartoons with good guys and bad guys (Boris Badenov) and the never ending flood of super-hero and war movie flooding the theaters. Rebellion has been Netflixized - no voices raised unless its against gas prices or wearing masks during a pandemic. 750 military bases around the world ready to incite trouble (er, I mean protect democracy) - they see no problem with that because we're the good guys. Again - thanks!
