Completely insane how many of these monstrocities are being put up in New York City. Some perverse delvelopers dream. Hudson Yards in an entity onto itself - a bunch of skyscrapers and fancy boutiques that really are completely disconnected from city life. Many of these hideous phallic examples of capitalist architecture remain unoccupied. Meanwhile building "affordable housing" which in any way is realistic about the "affordable" part, is non-existant. New York City was always a place to see the richest and the poorest, but now the middle ground - as it seems to be happening everywhere in the world - is shrinking daily.
