A meow came yowling along the ground.

This one was very different.
Not at all like the ones both of us have been imagining here and there in the last three days since BB died.
This one was loud. Clear. Real. It startled me. Awake.

The scenario was film noir. High contrast black and white. Skewed angles.

Real. — That is the word we are going to have to talk about.

I looked down towards from where the sound had come.
The only light in the total darkness of the room—white, a long stretched beam—came from an open doorway far off in the distance.

The cat walked across the beam. Ah—but no—that was the catch!
There was no cat—just its shadow—moving gracefully across the stretch of light beam on the floor surface.

Y’see—we’re talking inside the dream version of real.

Real enough to wake me up—to this real—where I can now talk about it.

My dream screenwriters and production department have been nominated, and won, every possible award I can give for coming up with imaginative content that I don’t feel I can even come close to achieving…
