Because the Republicans and their media mouthpieces have no interest in addressing the real needs of the people —and so they distort and abuse these social issues to keep a certain percentage of the population distracted and angry at the underprivileged instead of focusing their anger at the wealthy, and the corporate politicians who are getting a bigger and bigger piece of the pie. Keep 'em talking about abortion/guns/mask mandates/LGBTQ issues and they won't notice the many ways they are being screwed by the system, how this is the only country not to offer health care for all while the billionaires dont pay taxes. And all the rest of the REAL social issues.

This whole article is just another example of this smoke and mirrors distraction with nonsense.
