Absolutely not. You are taking my intention in the exact opposite direction.
It is your interpretation of what I am saying that is "chopped and twisted".
I think ALL of it should be reported. All the horrors. And not only selectively when it fits our narrative.
Wars run on lies and omissions in reporting. I support WIkileaks and every other whistle-blower that reveals this country's horrid practices.
We need to know. And look at what our government is trying to do to Assange.
I am in no way whatsoever here to play advocate for Russia or anything it is doing—it is unforgivable— but there is information leaking out about Ukrainian abuses out there also (as there are with any army of men hopped up on war) - but you can be sure our media will not cover those any more than Russian media will share theirs. And will call a Kremlin tool anyone who even tries to talk about it. It is our distinctive censoring device.
Gotta keep the populace involved and cheering on — put some yellow/blue memes out there and they wont pay attention to the billions going to Lockheed Martin and other weapons manufacturers to keep this proxy war going.
For persepctive on the atrocities and deceptions of the War Racket I recommend Chris Hedges' amazing book The Greatest Evil Is War.
To balance on the theme of atrocities I recommend this Wiki page that includes this fact:
"A study by Robert J. Lilly estimates that a total of 14,000 civilian women in England, France and Germany were raped by American GIs during World War II."
And there's hours of reading here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_war_crimes#Rape
Summing up:
We need to look at the wholesale atrocity of war - not just incidents that suit our adenda and narrative - and we need to refuse to cooperate with its narratives.
My 2cents pretty much since I refused to cooperate with the military draft for the Vietnam Invasion when I was 16.
Most of my writing in 2021 on Medium has been anti-war.
There's no sarcasm there or here.
